Mighty ‘Mato Grafted Tomatoes
It’s definitely not too early in January to be thinking about your spring vegetable garden. And if you’re not thinking about it yet, we’re thinking about it for you. We usually have tomato plants in around the first week in February and sometimes even a little earlier if we’re having a mild winter.
This spring we are very excited to again have “Mighty Mato” grafted tomatoes.
Here’s the short and sweet on why you should grow these great tomatoes and get them early because we will only have a limited amount.
- The Mighty Mato grafted tomato plant is much heartier. The grafting of a superhybrid rootstock to a great tasting variety makes for more disease resistance and increased water and nutrient uptake. That means higher yields and increased harvest – up to 2 – 3 times more tomatoes than the average tomato plant.
- Mighty Mato grafted tomatoes have better tolerance for extreme temperatures – lasting longer into the season when our hot weather begins.
- These Mighty Mato tomato plants will be available in heirloom varieties – great old –fashioned flavor with stronger healthier plants.
Call us in February and we can tell you when these great new hybrids will be in.
