Thornless Chilean Mesquite

This tree is considered waterwise.  Once established, it needs only occasional watering.   Follow a regular watering schedule during the first growing season.  The foliage is lacy and fern like.   It treewill tolerate many soil types and should be planted in an area with full sun.
 
Growth rate is moderate.  It can reach 30 feet tall and wide and provide filtered shade.   Thornless Chilean Mesquite is a good selection for  gardens with a tropical flare.
 
Cold hardiness is zones 8-11.   This tree is semi-evergreen.
 
Companion plants include Red autumn Sage, Compact Texas Sage and
Bougainvillea.
