Life: Annual

Size: 12-18″ tall, 15″ wide

Light: Full Sun

Water: Average, Well-Drained

Soil: Mildly Acidic to Neutral, Loam to Sandy Loam

1997 AAS Award Winner! Though the individual blooms are a bit smaller, only 3½” across, it sports many more of them than other varieties. The bright crests at the top of the plant are the largest, with smaller flowers at each node on the branches; all are a beautiful, bright scarlet. They will bloom nonstop from late spring until frost, with the bronzy-green leaves providing a beautiful backdrop. Excellent for pots and containers, it also makes a nice cut flower and can be dried for use in fall arrangements.

Celosia argentea plumosa (Celosia ‘New Look Red’)

Life: Annual

Size: 10″

Light: Full Sun

Water: Average, Well-Drained

Soil: Rich, Mildly Acidic to Neutral, Loam to Sandy Loam, but Adaptable

All-America Award Winner! This was the first dwarf Celosia variety to have bronze foliage. It is well-branched and bushy, producing spikes of large, blazingly-red blooms all summer long. The entire plant is quite hardy, tollerating wind, rain, and scorching summer heat while maintaining individual blooms for eight weeks or more. Excellent for pots and containers, as well as accents, borders, mass plantings, or for cutting and drying.

Celosia plumose (Celosia ‘Fresh Look’ Series)

Life: Annual

Size: 12-15″

Light: Full Sun

Water: Average, Well-Drained

Soil: Rich, Mildly Acidic to Neutral, Loam to Sandy Loam, but Adaptable

AAS Gold Medal Winner! Considered by many to be the best plumed Celosia on the market. The plants have a compact, well-branched growth habit, are adaptable to many climates and soil types, and produce multitudes of large, bright flowers for a remarkably long blooming season: spring to fall. The intensely-colored inflorescence can reach up to 10″ long on top of the plant; they come in red, orange, yellow, or gold. Best of all, the blooms do not need to be deadheaded; new buds will simply form around the old flowers. Excellent for pots and containers.
