Nandina

Nandina, also known as heavenly bamboo, is an evergreen or semi-evergreen shrub used frequently in landscaping. There are many varieties ranging from a 1 foot spreading ground cover, to a 3 foot compact hedge, to a 6 foot screening shrub.

While being mostly disease and pest free, it is a very hardy plant. Some but not all varieties have berries and some have red leaves that last all year long.

Nandina takes full sun to part shade depending on the variety. They require average watering and fertilizing, and like well-drained soil.
