Jacobinia, also called Brazilian Plume flower, is a beautiful dark green leafed perennial. The flowers look like plumes in bright pink or white. Jacobinia blooms from about summer to fall. Keep them well watered in part sun to shade (part sun in the Houston area is morning sun). Jacobinia grows from 4'-6' tall and 2 1/2'-3' wide. In colder climates it may die back to the ground, returning in the late spring.
