“For Ever, O LORD, Thy Word is Settled in Heaven.”
Have you thought about “For Ever” lately? If not, heads up, everybody! The good LORD has “For Ever” on His mind; and He wants us to take time to think upon “For Ever” this upcoming year. In fact, “For Ever” is The LORD’s annual theme for 2016, based upon the above verse. Please know that I am not saying it is His only theme; however, I do believe it is His primary theme.
How do I know this? Well, all I can say is “by faith.” It is written in Romans 10:17, “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” In 1994 The good LORD began giving me His annual themes to proclaim; and ever since then I have marvelled as His annual themes have echoed, and continue to be echoed, across the land each year. Had I not witnessed this in amazement and awe, I would not have the courage or motivation to go forth by faith with His proclamation. But the best way for you to test whether or not what I am presenting is true, is to observe for yourself this upcoming year.
Once you become aware that “For Ever” is The LORD’s theme; and if you do “listen up,” you will be amazed at how frequently you will experience His theme being gently whispered in various ways. It may be through a conversation with someone, or through someone speaking at a gathering or meeting, or through something said while you are watching tv or listening to the radio, or throuh something written on a billboard; and yes, even through scouting around on social media. After a while you, too, will begin to marvel at how prevalent His theme will subliminally flow through the atmosphere like a Spirit passing by. In fact, it is a Spirit. It is His Holy Spirit moving among us seeking to quicken us and to draw us closer to Him.
If you choose to be proactive to enrich and to enhance experiencing The LORD’s theme for 2016, purpose in your heart to take time to spend time with The LORD in prayer, and to take time to search the Scriptures for “For Ever.” The blend of these two efforts will not only tenderly minister to your soul, but will enrich and enhance your relationship with Him. With the many biblical applications, programs, and websites available to us at our fingertips, we are able to explore and discover His word in ways that other generations could only imagine.
From my personal experience, I haven’t always balanced my life well; and my priorities haven’t always been in order; but one thing I do know is that not one moment of time spent earnestly seeking knowledge and truth and understanding, whether in the Scriptures or in prayer, has been wasted or regretted, but has been well invested and is cherished and has reaped great returns. And the reward is getting to know God in ways that you would not otherwise. It is written, “Draw nigh to God, and He will draw nigh to you.” James 4:8
Although we will never to able to fathom the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God, “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your way, and My thoughts than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55:9, let’s challenge ourselves in the New Year to draw near/nearer to God, and enjoy and experience Him in a deep/deeper and fulfilling way, and let’s enjoy the journey. The only regret you may have is that you didn’t discover sooner how wonderful He is, and how wonderful He can be to you!
So, let’s not miss the sheer delight of experiencing cherished moments of intimacy with Him. And let’s keep our spiritual antennas up and allow The good LORD to personally connect and commune with us whether we be in the house, on the road, in the air, at work, in a meeting, out and about shopping, at the movies or… in the garden!
In closing, it’s hard to believe that the year is almost over; and a New Year is right around the corner. In light of that, it seems like a good time to ask you, “What do you think He is saying to us through His upcoming theme? Is He letting us know that time as we know it is winding down and that we are on the verge of stepping into “For Ever?”
“O LORD, give us eyes to see and ears to hear; and let us not be stiff-necked. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, For Ever. Amen.”
“…The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away: But the word of The LORD endureth For Ever…”
1 Peter 1:24,25
