Abelmoschus blooms are fantastic hibiscus like blooms that can range in color from pink to red.   The seed pots on abelmoschus look like okra, these pods can grow to 3″ long.  If the seed pods are removed the plant will keep blooming from spring until frost.   Plant in a raised bed with full to part sun.  The leaves are rough, and hairy, with three to nine lobes.  The root grows each year, resulting in larger clumps of plants every spring.  Once established it will be very drought-tolerant.
